Unpopular opinion: Wedding planning is not stressful if you hire the right team
One of the first questions we ask potential clients who are on the fence about adding in a planning service is “ do you have time for a part time job?” It's 11pm on a Tuesday and you just closed your laptop after a full day of back-to-back meetings and opened your personal inbox to fourteen unanswered messages from a florist, a venue coordinator, and a DJ who all need an answer by Friday. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone, and you're not doing anything wrong. You're just planning a wedding the way most people accidentally do: on top of a full-time job.
You’re not a planner or a designer, and that’s perfectly OK. That’s where hiring your planning team early comes into play. What we bring to the table? Streamlining the process and breaking it down into manageable tasks that eliminate stress and most importantly save you time. Also, we keep you accountable, it’s like going to the gym with a partner and hyping each other along on the harder days, versus counting on your own will to show up consistently.
Our clients value their free time and we work hard (and smart) to make sure we use it efficiently by curating a list of vendors that’s already been vetted, by sifting through emails and answering routine vendor needs, making vendor matches that create a smooth process and by avoiding snags that are time consuming. Prioritizing decisions from the beginning in such a way that our clients’ inboxes and calendars are not overwhelmed, and relying on trusted vendor partners who operate the same way we do is crucial.
It’s a myth that if you are organized and successful at what you do, you should also be able to plan a wedding on your own without help; The question is not can you, but should you? Most of our clients hire use BECAUSE they are organized, have high expectations but recognize the time demand for planning elaborate events.
We stagger our events in such a way that our clients get our attention and they don’t need to prioritize every email and every task on their own, we have eyes on the process and are guiding them along the way so that deadlines don’t get missed and costly rush fees don’t get added on.
This becomes especially important when planning over the summer months and over the holidays, we get that you want to live life, so from the beginning of the process we break down the schedule in such a way that we’re not loading a lot of time consuming tasks over those busy months ( or any other work life events that our clients flag for us) so that the process is smooth and as stress free as possible.
The result? When giving us the time and trust on the front end of the process, we are able to reduce stress, tension and ease decision fatigue, minimize stressful family dynamics, all adding up to more fun planning and less dreading.
